Brand for Life
On the 2nd of June 2022, Scott Savage’s love for Crew went permanent. Opting to ink the iconic cherub from Overnight Angel Crew’s logo and the fabled Santa Muerte Angel on his entire arm.
Scott said: “It became apparent to me that Crew will always have a massive place in my heart. Every design we’ve created and continue to create always has a deeper meaning for me. I really wanted to showcase that fashion is not only a lifestyle, but it is an artistic way to express yourself, and that to me is what we stand for. A vessel for expression - and we are only just getting started”.
The Cherub logo was the catalyst to the Savage’s journey in the fashion world. It was the first graphic designed which ultimately created Overnight Angels Crew’s identity.
The Santa Muerte design however is one of the most recent projects. Nuestra Señora de la Santa Muerte is Spanish for Our Lady of the Holy Death, often shortened to Santa Muerte. Originally appearing as a male figure, Santa Muerte now generally appears as a skeletal female figure, clad in a long robe (of any colour) and holding one or more objects, usually a scythe and a globe. She is associated with healing, protection, and safe delivery to the afterlife by her devotees.
An artist at Feline Tattoo Studio in Sheffield, England, did the tattoo which took over 12 hours to complete.
We can be sure it’s not the last tattoo Scott has planned so keep your eyes peeled for exciting new designs coming soon.
